My Plans For Blog And Career
Writing is a form of energy, just like anything else, and it is lovely to be remunerated for it just like for any other job done. This topic is in fact tackled in an earlier post of mine, titled From An Author: Art Is Work. On the other hand, as with any other artistic endeavour, creative writing only works when it is coming from the heart and not just through the mind’s vision of turning the work into dollar signs.
As per another, more recent, blog post of mine, I am at a point where writing ‘out of duty’, as it were, has taken its toll (check out About The Writing). As a result, I have been updating my blog less and less of late. However, today I was going through my DVD collection and remembered how pre professional work I used to enjoy activities such as watching a film and then make them the basis of an article on my blog.
I don’t want to lose touch with the writing yet I do want to find time to enjoy other hobbies of mine such as the afore-mentioned film-watching. So in a bid to keep my blog updated with interesting information whilst enjoying some time to rest as well, I have decided to go back to the roots, so to speak, from whence it all started: a blog that makes for light if informative reading about any and all subjects that I might come across in my everyday life.
This is not to say that there won’t be the periodic, deeper, more solemn article any longer. Neither does it mean that my more mainstream updates such as reviews of films and books won’t anyway tackle themes to make you think or become more aware of particular heavy topics. In other words, I hope that the blog will still continue to serve as an insightful and pleasant read to my readers old and new. I just feel like it is time to ‘Be Me’ more than to be a Happiness Guru or Spiritual Guide or any other bombastic ‘type’ of writer.
Before I end this short update, I have also some exciting career news to share. My book Amazonite is now a candidate in the poetry section of the National Book Competition for books first published in Malta in the year 2020. The book is still available to order here: Buy The Book.
In addition to this, I am currently brain-storming ideas for my next book of poetry and prose poetry, which already has a working title and a good assortment of entries in draft form.
Last but not least, I am planning one or maybe even two new ebooks for the coming year and still hold onto my dream of eventually putting together another book or ebook that explains The Law of Attraction in an easy to understand but also highly informative way.
So keep tuned, for both new blog posts and publications too!
